The Comb (approx. 1785) by the Japanese master of ukiyo-e, woodblock prints: Kitagawa Utamarô. His works are praised all over the world. His techniques were especially adapted by European impressionists.
This is another example of a woodblock printing (ukiyo-e) of the famous Japanese artist Kitagawa Utamarô 喜多川 歌麿 (1753-1806): Seven Women Applying Make-up in the Mirror ca. 1792-1793. It is a picture of a beautiful women, a so-called bijin-ga.
