Art on Tuesday: Arashiyama in Spring

arashiyamaThis scene was painted by Suizan Miki in 1924 as a traditional ukiyo-e. Cherry blossom trees are in the front. The sun shines on the blue lake, but it is still a little chilly because of a light breeze. The three women wear colorful kimonos according to the spring season. Look there is also a tiny boat on the lake. Spring has just begun.
