This is another woodblock print of Itô Shinsui 伊東 深水 (1898 – 1972) of 1923. The woman is shown from behind. Although black is the dominating colour the picture is not depressing completely. The woman seems introverted. What she is doing is not obvious. Perhaps she feels just cold or is she is reading a book. The colours of the blankets build a lively contrast. Maybe the warmth will cheer her up soon.
