Valentine’s Day in Japan

On Valentine’ s day only women give chocolate to their husbands, boyfriends or men they like. Women in love don’t receive flowers or presents like in other countries. What a pity … The idea of Valentine’s Day as a festival of lovers is not fully adapted here. It is more like a kind gesture. Even nice colleagues get some chocolate.  Men have a chance to show their love one month later on March 14th, when it is the White Day. This is very Japanese, because there is no present without a counter present.
